Out of my mind reflection-Cameron Azzopardi
Out of my mind by Sharon Draper is a gripping novel about an 11 year old girl named melody. She has a disability of not being able to walk or talk. She goes to school at Spaulding street primary school. She has trouble trying to fit In and is in a separate class. Although everyone else has a disability, they don’t really understand her. Eventually, Melody’s class gets to go to the ‘normal’ classes.
Melody is an 11 year old girl who is resilient and imaginative. She demonstrates resilience by trying to bounce back from not being able to communicate that well or not as well as the ‘normal’ Kids. She has a big imagination because of an ability that she has. This ability is a photographic memory.
Melody has trouble making friends with the people around her and only really has a strong relationship with her parents. Melody’s parents help Melody along the way of her seemingly impossible journey through grade 5. Even though she had loads of trouble with communication, but eventually found a way. Melody faces a lot of problems throughout her journey of yearSharon Draper uses a lot of amazing techniques in this wonderful book. One of them is: adding small little events that all lead up to one big one. Like when Penny runs up to dad’s car while it’s just parking ending up with Penny getting hit by the car and being injured really badly.
Out of my mind by Sharon Draper is gripping and exciting that Is a pinch emotional. Be prepared to to read and be amazed by Draper’s exceptional story of Melody’s life.
